Cor's Tour du Canada Adventure 2005
July 3 - Day 9
Albert Canyon

Ride today was along the Trans Canada to Albert Canyon, a small resort community dominated by the Canyon Hot Springs Resort, 40kms east of Revelstoke.
Had a pretty good riding day today. Mostly familiar territory, the first 25kms I had done with the local club two years ago and the rest had been driven recently as well. The weather became warm enough to take off my vest in the latter half of the day and the showers seemed to stay on the mountain tops. Busy traffic along the #1 as it is the end of the long weekend. It did make some of the bridge crossings scary as they did not slow down for us and passed with oncoming traffic and no shoulders. We did climb a minor pass near Three Valley Gap and then a long downhill to Revelstoke after which we had to start climbing that distance again as we knocked off the first 200ms of the climb to Roger's Pass tomorrow. I did go and enjoy the hot springs with a few of the other riders, surprised that more of them did not enjoy this, so the evening ended with relaxing in the hot water looking at the sun set behind building clouds on the mountain tops.
Breaking camp and eating breakfast in Sicamous.
View along Mara Lake near the campground.
Mart passing me by early in the day.
Doing the tourist thing, visiting the Last Spike.
Bud said he wanted pictures of the tourist landmarks.
John crossing the Columbia River in Revelstoke.
Getting into the real mountains after Revelstoke.
