White Lake

Today the group celebrated the half way point of distance in the ride. That meant that we were provided with a special meat lunch and ice cream at Pebble Beach in Marathon. A defenite treat based on our usual Peanut Butter and ? sandwiches. Day was quite hilly to start but that flattened out a bit as we climbed up on to a plateau as we veered inland from Lake Superior which we will not see for a couple of days now. Took the day easy after the hard day yesterday and still made it to camp with plenty of time. Looking forward to that rest day after tomorrows ride. Roads have been in slightly better shape than two days ago. Still lots of stretches of narrow shoulder but in newer condition than the broken asphalt we had to deal with near Thunder Bay.
Scenic Shot at Ney's Provincial Park
I enjoy water and it's movement, letting time move it through the picture as in some of my waterfall shots, or capturing the still moment that our eyes can usually not see.
Keith and Melissa cruising along the highway. Fortunate to have wide shoulders in this stretch.
Some of the gang waiting for the truck to show up for our halfway lunch picnic.
More wave action.
Rich testing out the cold waters of Lake Superior.
Scenic Shot, Pebble Beach in Marathon.
Had to have the ice cream first, it melts, then it was the real sandwiches.
What do kids do all day, ride their bikes and play on the swings. Nathan actually found something more uncomfortable than his bike seat.
Had to keep an eye on our food or this guy would grab it.
This is what happens to bikes after they get taken down the Old Heron Bay Road. Should have taken the highway.
