Cor's Tour du Canada Adventure 2005
July 14 - Day 22
Regina Rest Day

Previous Day - - Back to Daily Log - - Next Day

Campground today is a bit of a distance from the city proper but there are shopping areas about 2-3kms away so not bad. Mostly a rest day, catch up on updating the internet and laundry. This afternoon will involve looking for a good meal to eat and maybe reading a book. Internet at this location was not too bad. Paid $9.95(+tax) for a 24 hour wi-fi connection and allowed some of the other TDC riders to get online and check email.

Medical problems so far - not much. My lips were very sore and swollen over the last 3 days of riding in the hot sun and wind and my throat was a bit sore from this as well. The butt seems to be holding up okay with the use of the Bag Balm. Some slight knee pain, which has been minimal since we have left the mountains, and the Ibuprofen takes care of that. One unusual concern is the ends of my big toes going numb. Don't know why but the feeling is not coming back in the left one yet. Maybe after a day of rest.

Addendum - Now ready for bed. Took a ride in a vehicle that had 4 wheels today and moved under it's own power, novel idea. A group of us went by taxi to the movies and saw War of the Worlds. Good effects, expected a better ending from Spielberg. Also replaced my chain today, new thing I learned, as just part of the first 5000km regular maintenance.
