July 13 - Day 19
Outlook

Felt a lot better today. We had the medium size community of Rosetown to stop in just past the half way point and I found a Dairy Queen there to eat and cool down in. It is the only reason I can think of that the day felt so much easier. It was so nice to sit and relax for an hour in the middle of the day. It looks like there are communities now at regular intervals as we get closer to Regina but the days are shorter as well. I had never done days over 100kms before last year and now a 119km day is considered short. Nice early start today at 6:30 meant more cool riding time as well but the sun became hot very quickly. I was beginning to wonder if there would be anything different to photograph today and it was only after arriving in Outlook that I found something. Outlook has one of the (or maybe the) longest pedestrian bridges in Canada. It is the Skytrail Walking Bridge, an old CPR bridge that has been converted to pedestrian use and is part of the Trans Canada Trail.
Terrific views from and of the bridge over the South Saskatchewan River.
Fulton, Cynthia and Pat enjoying the view from the bridge.
Another beautiful sunset, this one over the Skytrail Walking Bridge as seen from our campground.
