Cor's Tour du Canada Adventure 2005
July 11 - Day 17
Youngstown
Previous Day - - Back to Daily Log - - Next Day
Harder day than expected. I just ended up really tired after today's ride but the ride itself was not too bad. A milkshake stop in Hanna really gave me a boost of energy but I think the headwinds earlier in the day just did me in. Travelling through a lot of the same country side, which I am enjoying, but will not post all the similar pictures I am taking compared to yesterday. We are camped higher than last night, the first 50kms saw us go up a total of 240ms in elevation and then a general shallow slope downhill in varying cross winds that were rarely from the rear quarter. I did turn over 5000kms on the odometer on my bike today which included just about all the training I did this year plus the ride to date.
Scenic shot.
Truck stopping for a food and water break.
Mart, Earl, Dawn, Toma and Leigh in a loose pace line.
Earl, Fulton, Ken, Marg, Carol and Mark resting with cold snacks.
Mart and Dawn finished their snacks and getting ready to head back out.
Threatening clouds forming on the prairies.
The great hospitality of the residents of Youngstown. They held a potluck dinner for us.
Having the bike cleaned and lubed in Youngstown.
Sunset on the camp.
