July 21 - Day 27
Beausejour

Today we had an option. We could either go a shorter route over rural roads or visit the city of Winnipeg on a slightly longer route. When the day started, I was not sure but wanted to do something different outside of the normal routine of just getting to the destination so when Nathan, Nicole and Cynthia came along and said they were doing the Winnipeg option I asked if they minded my joining them for the ride. This was OK so it was off to Winnipeg. I usually have a hard time finding someone to ride with due to my lack of constant speed but with getting a little stronger in my riding I was able to keep up with them. This turned out to be a good day just because of the change in routine, having a nice steak lunch at the Keg, looking at the cement sculpted bears and visiting The Forks. The ride out to camp was a good stretch after this and did make for a long day with a late arrival in camp around 7:30. Dinner was still being served as well as one of the rider's mother providing a nice big cake for desert. Mosquitos were less active here so more relaxing to eat and set up the tent. It was a nice day to ride with friends.
